About

About the show

Revolutions is a long-form narrative podcast covering the great political revolutions that have defined the modern world. Each season is a self-contained arc — three hundred years of history, twelve seasons, more than three hundred and fifty episodes — telling, in detail, the story of the people, ideas, and events that toppled one regime and built another.

The show is hosted, written, and produced by Mike Duncan, also the creator of The History of Rome and the author of The Storm Before the Storm and Hero of Two Worlds. Season 12 took the format somewhere new — a fictional history of the Martian Revolution of 2247, written in the voice of a historian working three centuries later. With that arc complete, Revolutions returns to history in 2025, beginning with Irish Independence and continuing through the great revolutions of the 20th century.

The free feed will always be free. The members' edition is for listeners who want to go deeper: ad-free listening, bonus episodes between seasons, member-only Q&As, and early access to whatever's next.
